LCD Display not working but External output works...PLEASE HELP!

Hi everyone,

I performed the following Display Replacement repair on my 2009 13" Unibody Macbook Pro (MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2009 Display Replacement)

However, at some point during the repair, I saw that the display data connector socket on the logic board was damaged (the gold covering had fallen off!) - this is step 8 if you want to take a closer look. Please also see pictures attached.

As such, when I boot up my laptop, the screen flickers and continues to do so with no clear image. When I plugged into the external output, the external output works just fine.

Also, I have switched LCD displays and the problem persists, as such, I have come to the conclusion that the socket connector for the LCD display is damaged.

Can someone please tell me what my options are? Would soldering the metal bracket back onto the logic board be the best option? (I have tried tape but to no avail).

Thank you!
