HDMI port not working after connecting to TV

My laptop's HDMI port stopped working about 12 months ago, and I have yet to find the cause. The GPU is an Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M.

I remember it failed to work after connecting it to my 50" Samsung TV to watch a movie. At first I thaught it was the cable, but after testing with various monitors and cables, I came to the conclusion which is the port is not working.

Recently I tried connecting annother laptop to the same TV. The HDMI was working perfectly up untill then, but now I have the same problem on that computer.

My question is:

Is it possible that the TV ruins the HDMI port for any or some devices connected, and is there a way to fix this?

The PC maufacturer says that they can take a look at it, but I can not be without my computer due to school and work, so I am hoping to be able to fix it myself!

In advance, thanks for the read and reply. Anything helps.

Answer this question I have this problem too

If its port damage you could replace the port.

If its board damage it may have hurt the controller for the HDMI port.

You would need to replace the board or the parts if youre able but this requires knowledge of the board schematics and how to tell whats faulty.
