The tablet is not getting internet connection.

It is not receiving or not reporting any internet signal. It is turning on OK, but if touch a "button" is making a yellow square around and I have to touch a little harder to open it, and I can not change like a page to get to "settings"

I'd take it back to where you got it. Best Buy will do everything including free exchange if that's where you bought it.
