SAMSUNG LCD TV loses picture/sound ok is this the TCON BOARD?

I have a samsung tv model code - LNS3241DX/XAA

In doing some online research it sounds like i need a new TCON board

My picture will intermittently display but there are flashes and the display seems darker. Once the set has been on for approx 20-30 minutes the sceen will freeze and fade to black. Sound continues I am able to change channels. If I power off the tv for 15-20 minutes the picture will return but the same thing happens. This happens with both my DVR and blue ray components.

IF this sounds like a TCON problem I also wanted to confirm part number CMO 35D003848 would be a compatible alternative as it appears the original is out of stock.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Natalie Gahres, yes it could be the T-con board (unlikely). But, you also want to check the capacitors on your power supply and the inverter board. Check for capacitors that look like the are defective. Check for domed tops, swollen caps and leakage on the bottom. Samsung was plagued by bad capacitors which could be responsible for your symptoms as well. The part number for the T-con board (if you really want to replace it) is CMO 35-D004737 and the number you have is a substitute for it.

Thank you. I did some further reading and was beginning to doubt that it was the T-con.

I am still not convinced that the T-con board is the issue:-)It really does sound like bad caps...
