other problems caused by oxygen sensor

My oxygen sensors keep putting my check engine soon lite on, could it be more than the sensors that are failing. My mechanic says it could be a pump?

Has it happened often ? Have you replaced the sensor?

you need to check live data on ECU.... Check how oxygen sensor reacts to added fuel/air. Check long and short fuel trim data. If it showing lean check for vacuum leak and/or clogged or not firing injector low fuel pressure also may cause lean conditions. If its rich check ignition system, MAF/MAP sensor, fuel pressure and leaking injectors....
