Where can I insert the PCI-e X4 adapter card into?

Hi, im trying to retrieve some data from SSD card from my water damaged macbook air 13" early 2014 model. Where do i insert the adapter after i attach my SSD into the adapter? Is there a notch in macbook air 13" early 2015 model (that i recently bought) where i can plug in the adapter directly? if not, where else can i plug in the adapter?

I think you'll need to return your adapter as there is a better and easier solution here.

First you'll need to order the following from Other World Computing: OWC Envoy Pro Portable, Bus-Powered USB 3.0 Enclosure For Apple Flash SSDs (June 2013-Current Mac Models).

Follow this IFIXIT guide to remove the SSD from your system so you can put it into the Envoy case: MacBook Air 13" Early 2014 Solid-State Drive Replacement.

Once you have things setup you should be able to access your files from another Mac.
