Why isn't my iPhone 4S replacement screen sitting flush on one side?

My iPhone 4S Display Assembly doesn't seem to be sitting flush on one side, which is the Volume Button and Silent Switch side. The opposite side, where the Sim Card slot is located is sitting perfectly fine. I have made sure the Digitizer cable isn't folded, the plastic camera ring is sitting properly and all broken glass is removed. What could be the problem?

You sometimes get this with third party parts, because they are poorly made, you can try reopen it, and push it down all the way as it may not have gone down when you tightened screws.

Hi PhoneOpsPlus, I had a feeling it would come down to a dodgy part. It's not an OEM, but it wasn't exactly a cheap part either. I may be able to push it down into place with force, but I would risk damaging the screen. I have contacted the seller asking for a replacement part, and now I'm just waiting on a response.

That's probably the best thing you could have done, if that one doesn't fit, I would suggest getting a refund and order somewhere else :-)

From this point on I will be purchasing OEM only. Thanks for your help! :)

Did you remove the old adhesive that was on the top and bottom of the screen?

you have to remove them

make sure the six screw and washer are sitting on top of the frame most of the time the frame get stuck in between the washer and the screws.

when you pull the lcd and digitizer cable through the hole make sure they are the same length.

if they are not DO NOT PULL ON IT take it off and redo it.

Hi Sunny, thanks for the quick response.

Yes, I did remove the adhesive from the top and bottom. As for the 6 screws and washers, I completely removed them, even though the replacement guide tells you to just loosen them, thinking this was causing the problem, but it wasn't. And I made sure I fed the Digitizer cable through the hole in the frame correctly. Any other ideas?

if it is just a little bit of gap try to push it down. if it works it should snap in to the frame. If it is a faulty assembly it will pop right out. try that first.

It wouldn't even budge when I used EXTREME force, which was strange. So I decided to have a closer look at the assembly, and from what I can see, the Digitizer (mirror part of the assembly) is slightly raised on one side. I think this answers my question?
