Replacing data cable worked, but only for a week

I successfully replaced my display cable using ifixit's guide, but after about a week the problem returned (screen "blacks out" when macbook opened more than about 30 degrees).

Any thoughts what might have gone wrong?

I should note that I do have a swelling battery, with a new one coming in the mail. But I tried without the battery in and the problem persisted.

Thank you for reading and hope you can help!

Hey sarvodaya327, before confirming if anything is damaged, I'd recommend that you dis assemble then reassemble it again. If the problem persists then the display might be faulty.

-Let me know how it goes.

I will give it a try. Hoping the cable is not pinched. It was difficult to ascertain the proper positioning of the cable within the hinge.

that is because your gpu or screen are dead. LCD cable never goes bad, that is just internet wishful thinking for a $5 fix to a $150 problem, and will never stop being reposted as wrong as it is. :( The internet is the world's most consistent source of incorrect information!

Can you take a picture of the actual problem you see on the screen so we can give you an idea? Also the 820-**** number of your logic board, this will be hidden under the display data cable.
