I droped my iPhone in the lake and took it out and let it dry out ant it would not work it just shows the apple logo and goes off but only when it is plugged it to the charger if it is not plugged in it does nothing like it is completely dead I am wondering if it is the battery got shorted out?plz help

Number one if you dropped the phone into the lake, you should have took it to a local repair shop right away and never ever plug it into a charger even if you left it for five days without turning anything on, iPhones do dry out very quickly, and also there is corrosion that sets in on the motherboard and that is what has to be removed and it has to go through a sonic cleaner to be able to remove all that corrosion off, the battery is probably shot! That is the first thing to go on the water damage phone and the battery will not short out the board but the charging device plugged directly into the wall well!
So it sounds like you need to go buy a new phone because that one is pretty much shot.
