dropped in water for a few seconds and would not work properly

Hi my friends iphone 4 was dropped in water for a few seconds and would not work properly, I have replace a number of parts including the loudspeaker, microphone and earpiece speaker. when he tries to make calls it goes straight to loudspeaker and there is no communication between phone calls, there isn't even static or crackling. I would like to know which part of the motherboard controls phone calls and are any of the these parts replaceable?

Hi memz,

There is no point replacing parts on the phone if you're not going to clean up the water damage in the first place, if you're just replacing parts, then you are not getting rid of the problem itself, it will continue to become a problem, and will not solve the issue. :-)

It would more than likely be less expensive to replace the phone. local craigslist is great just make sure that you call the provider and make sure it isnt on a lost / stolen list.
