Glass is separating from screen when replacing battery

Hi guys,

I have an iPhone 5s with a bad battery that I'm attempting to replace. My issue is, when I use the suction cup to separate the display and the housing, the glass of the display begins to separate while the display itself stays in place. The screen itself of the phone works fine and I only want to replace the battery. Is there any way for me to prevent the glass from separating?

Hi,

Instead of using a suction cup I would highly recommend using a spudger, such as the isesamo, or a flat blade, being extremely careful not to cut home button cable, this allows you to pull up the screen a lot safer than it would with a suction cup, this way you run less risk of damaging the home button from pulling glass out. :-)
