My loading screen for my acer

So I was in the login screen of my Acer laptop and my mouse was stuck on the version of the mouse for when you're about to click something to type something in and it wouldn't let me click anything so I held down the power button because it wouldn't let me do crtl alt delete so I turned it back on and it gave me options of what to do so that brings me to my 2 questions What should I select so that I keep all of my data? And when I tried refreshing it it got stuck on the loading screen but after 45 minutes of waiting the cursor appeared but then nothing else happened and it won't go past the loading screen so can anyone answer my questions with simple answers considering I'm not that smart with coding.

What model is your Acer and what Operating System did it have? What screen exactly "gave me options of what to do " Right now it sounds like either a RAM issue or a HDD issue.

First make sure the mouse and keyboard are plugged in correctly. Then when you get the screen as to which one to select go to safe mode if that option is there with networking as you may need to download drivers. To navigate this screen you must use your keyboard as the mouse does not work here. Once in safe mode see if your mouse is working and if it does restart your computer if it doesn't try a different mouse and restart your computer if that doesn't work you may need to reinstall drivers . for that help I need to know what version of windows or whatever OS your using is

By the way entering safe mode will not do anything to your data and I was also amusing your on a older windows based OS when I talked about safe mode. If your running Linux let me know you'll need different instructions
