Why is new RAM not showing up?

Installed new RAM chip, but it is not showing up when I check the specs...

Thanks for the help!

I have model #A1046 and purchased 1 GB, PC 2700

I did try swapping them, but still no luck.

What model do you have? First, I'd go back in and make sure it's fully seated. Second, if you have a 15" or 17", try putting the new RAM in the other slot. Aluminum and Titanium PowerBooks are notorious for one slot or the other going bad. Third, verify you have the right type of RAM. Again, if you can let us know your model number, and the specific RAM you purchased, we can verify it's the right type.
