Soda Spill, slow charging, now no charging

So about a month ago I spilled about few ounces of soda down the back of my screen and some got in the back left corner where the fan and DC-in are located. I immediatmely took both bottom panels off and dried off any liquid there was. the computer was charing when the spill happend and needless to say it shut it self off right after the incident. I left it opened up to air/dry out for 24-48 hours and when i put it all back toegether and plugged it in to charge the indicater lite on the chrager came on but was a steady dim green. the computer charged just very slowly. I used it as such for about 2 weeks (mainly because im borke and can't afford to send it anywhere). Yesterday I had it off the charger and didnt noticed the battery was running low. It ran out of juice, shut of, and now would charge back up or come on at all. I know i prob need to replace the DC-in and might need a new battery, but im on a fixed budget so i really want to know the best things to try first, and how to diagnose my problem. Thanks for reading all this and for you time.

Hi...

Your best first step would be to take it apart again and clean the Mag Safe Board and other visible signs of soda with a minimum concentration of 90% isopropyl alcohol. DO NOT USE ANYTHING BELOW 90% as it contains a lot of water. just use a cotton swab and clean up all the sticky residue.

If that doesn't help I would then replace the Mag Safe board before replacing the battery.

Hope I was of some help...
