smiter22, any Core 2 Duo except the 1066 MHz bus will work. Download the service manual from here. Page 13 will show you how to change your processor. Here are the options that were offered by Dell for this model "Dell Inspiron 1525 N5010

The CPU's mentioned like a Pentium T4200, aren't for an Inspiron 1525, but more like a 1545.
