Can anyone help? My iPhone6 was dropped in water.

I dropped my iphone in water. Quickly took it out within seconds. Everything is fine except the phone keeps searching for reception.

What do you think the problem may be? Water damage to antenna or something else inside phone?

kaylarichardsonweaver ," took it out within seconds" really does not matter. All it sometimes takes are milliseconds. What matters where and what got exposed and ultimately shorted out.Just like any other submersion, it is a bit of a guessing game as in how your phone will respond to a proper cleaning. The importance right now is to not turn it on, or trying to sync/charge it. Please remember that any dessicant is only a first aid. It will not prevent corrosion nor fix shorted SMD components. SO no rice or any other stuff. Remove the battery, and disassemble is right down to the logic board. Remove the EMI shields and clean everything with isopropyl alcohol (90%+) and a soft brush, including all connectors and cable ends. Check for any burned or missing components. You may have to repeat this step a couple of times. Once it is cleaned, reassemble it and replace the battery, then reevaluate for any real damage. Right now, everything will only be a guess, and the longer you wait the more corroded it will get. Hope this helps, good luck."

Hi,

I have some questions about this :

Why have to replace the battery ? It seem to work well

Can we clean everywhere with isopropyl ?

How can we find burned composant ?

I have the same issue with cellular reception, and nothing to do. Everything else is working fine. I would like to find more about this issue.

Thanks
