Do I have to replace the entire body (with screen)?
I dropped my laptop a couple times. The screen is now completely shattered, however there are no dead pixels or anything wrong with the lighting of the display.
Do I have to replace the entire body or just the glass panel? I am new to this.
I am usually VERY careful with my devices. I happened to almost fall down the stairs and I caught my laptop after the first step it tumbled but then I lost my balance and then re-dropped it and it went down 2 steps.
Luckily, I had a protective hard case on it so the top is no dented or scratched but the bottom shell fell off and now my lower body is dented and when I type (like right now) it is imbalanced. It is like a table with a shorter leg and I am tempted to put a sticker or something on the bottom of one of the legs. But I'm afraid I will just let this whole thing go (the idea of fixing my laptop) so I am letting it wobble.
The functions and such are fine. I put clear tape all over the screen so it doesn't fall off (would it?). I just don't want to bring it in anywhere to get fixed other than Apple (because I don't want my info and data exposed) so I want to do this on my own.
I've done other things my first time and fixing a computer has always been something I wanted to try... but I am afraid to mess up something. I mean, I have done things like, replace and repair a toilet and toilet system, ceiling fan, in-ground pool stuff..
I mean I guess the closest things to this would be replacing a ceiling fan (since there is electricity). Is this something I could do, with NO computer repair experience? Thanks!
Is this a good question?
