I need to restore some of my icons, they went fuzzy and look like tv snow, after I did a bit of a clean up on my imac. Ihave yosemite. Also thumbnails that I save to desk top are completely purple. I have a screen shot of the issue.

If you have access to an external monitor which you can plug in see if the image is messed up on it. If external looks good the internal display LCD screen or its cable is damaged. If the external look the same then the graphics board is bad.
