battery connector on faceplate came loose

I was installing a new battery and when I flipped up the little brown lever to insert the end of the battery cable, the entire piece came loose from the back of the faceplate. Can I glue it back? does it need to be sottered? do I have to buy something to replace this (like the motherboard?),,The unit is in perfect condition and I don't want to have to put it on ebay as a brokn unit. PLEASE let me know if you have a solution. Thank you.

If the piece where the battery cable connects to broke off the mother board, you will have to replace the motherboard. If just the brown locking piece broke off it should just slide back into the connector.

Hope I was of some help...

Darren, Thanks for your answer. I was afraid that I was going to have to buy a new mother board. Again, Thanks. Saundra

Motherboard? Hmmmmmm, I never thought I'd hear an Apple technician use those words.
