Everytime i try to open my ipod on my iphone it doesnt open correctly. ill press on the ipod button and it will only have the top bar with the time and the bottom black bar, but with no buttons. and in the middle its just a white screen.

When in trouble, try iPhone "Restore" first.
What probably happened is, creating a cache (you remember seeing "Updating library") failed, and the cache is corrupt. "Restore" has a good chance to recreate the library list.
