My iPhone 5S won't turn on and is overheating

Hi, I dropped my iPhone in water about a week ago and i burried it in rice for like, 3 days or so, and it wouldn't work so I cleaned the motherboard with alcohol and then I plugged it in and the battery was charging but after awhile, it wouldn't turn on again. So I bought a battery on the internet and it came like 3 days later and I replaced the battery, and now the processor is heating a little bit when I plug my phone, but it still won't turn on ? What's wrong with it?

Unfortunately with the water damage the phone most likely won't turn on again.

It sounds like the phone is running power through the board and the power is just not being used up. If it's not used then it dissipates into heat. Anything can happen after having a phone in the water and water probably got under the shields on the board. Cleaning the board unfortunately won't clean under the shields where there is probably more corrosion.

During water cleanings I take the shields off the motherboards and clean under them. I don't know you level of experience but I would not suggest doing this unless you are very confident.

Does that mean that I need to buy a new motherboard? D:

Buying a new motherboard is just as much as buying a new phone. And honestly I would say to go ahead and get a new phone. I do 10-15 water cleanings a week and no matter how hard I try they don't always work afterwards.

When you get your new phone put it in a good case. Be aware though, no case is 100% waterproof, its all only water resistant.

Check eBay for a seller named smart_tech_repair.

He has fixed this same problem for me in the past.

He has 100% rep and can be trusted.

It's not a very costly repair
