where does the oxygen cable go! the mechanic took it off and now he doesnt know where it goes!!!

Are you talking about the O2 sensor? There are probably a couple of them, but they go into bungs on the exhaust pipe. Probably one before your catalytic converter, and one after.
Might suggest a new mechanic...
