The words on my book can't be seen

I was in the middle of reading my book, when suddenly all the words were highlighted whites and the words can't be seen. It's like that for the rest of the book and i don't know what happened because I was just simply reading like every other time.

Mine does something like this once in a while. I power it all the way off, and restart it, and so far that brings the display back. I don't know what causes the issue, but this solution has worked for me.
