Screen flickering after screen replacement

The last 2 phones I have replaced the screen assembly I have encountered the following problem, screen seems fine to start with but when any think is pressed or anything pops up the screen gets horizontal lines across. I was thinking it was the new screen but with it being the last 2 replacements I've done, i'm beginning to wonder if its something I'm doing.

Does anyone else have this problem.

I'd question the quality of the screens, are they from the same supplier? If yes, try sourcing out a screen from another supplier and see if there is a difference.

I think they are from different supplier but both from Ebay, where is best to get replacement screens from??.

I have a feeling that its something to do with one of the flex cables but only a guess.

Yep definitely the flex cable.. I took the camera cable off and tried the screen, still the same until I moved the screen up forcing the small metal box on the lcd/digitiser to go nearly 90 degrees to the screen (something I know you shouldn't do) and the flickering went and screen seemed normal... But knowing you can't keep the flex cable like that, I guess the screen is useless.

@marcwotton: i have the same issue on the iphone 5S. I don't understand when you speak about the 90 degrees of the small metal box, could you explain better? (maybe some pictures would be great help...). And finally, how did you solve the problem?? Thanks in advance
