Chosen Solution

First tell us what you have besides the generic description of "2010mackbookpro". If you don't know, give us the last four figures of your serial number and I'll tell you. The question is insulting to me. Indicative of the disposable society mentality and goes against everything this site stands for. Obviously YOU didn't have to pay for it. Size of screen? Does it do the job? RAM? Processor? Hard Drive size? Operating system? How beat up is it? In human terms your machine is 40 years old. Should we euthanize those over forty?

UPDATE

Your machine can be upgraded to 16 GB of RAM. It will take the latest Mac OS X 10.10.4. You can drop in a Solid State SSD drive for blazing speed. You can change out the optical drive for an additional hard drive.
