Rainbow colors after digitizer replacement.

My iPad was working perfectly except for the fact that the screen was cracked. I then proceeded to beat by a digitizer since the LCD seem to be working perfectly. I then removed the LCD and the digitizer at the same time. I then installed in the correct order. After turni my iPad was working perfectly except for the fact that the screen was cracked. I then proceeded to beat by a digitizer since the LCD seem to be working perfectly. I then removed the LCD and the digitizer at the same time. I then installed in the correct nag the iPad back on there is a rainbow colors all over the screen. Is there anyway to get my iPad back to normal or should I just consider the LCD crap and broken ?

is it reversed colours? try settings/general/accessibility and change invert colours. you can also try tapping home button 3 times.

It sounds like the LCD was damaged during the repair. It can be a challenge to separate the digitizer from the device without damaging the LCD. If a person inserts their tools to far and applies too much pressure to the LCD while trying to remove the digitizer it will usually get damaged, or if the tool is too thick and inserted to far it may also put too much pressure on the LCD. Your description of the screen signals a damaged LCD which will need replaced. Hope this helps.

they aren't glued together.the lcd is screwed in place...

You are correct they are not glued together, but I was talking about breaking the LCD when trying to remove the digitizer from the device which is held in place with adhesive along the edges.

I wouldn't think that the lcd would be damaged by removing the digitizer. But I can say from experience this week that you can easily break the digitizer while trying to get to the lcd. Heat it well and go slow (especially that left (last) side. Don't try and open it like a book, instead, lift straight up. I'm buying both digitizer and lcd today.
