Broken Home Button on replacing screen.

Hi there.

I've today replaced my iPhone 5 screen and the home button has stopped functioning.

The new screen I replaced my screen with was a complete bundle, so in theory I only needed to replace the screen, the home button, camera, speaker and all were included in the pre-bought screen.

However, when I booted the phone after everything went successfully (I thought so anyway), the home button did not work.

To troubleshoot this, I reconnected the old screen (including home button) and now this home button did not work either, so this implies an issue with the other 'half' of the phone.

I'm not particularly tech savvy, but I could not find this exact question answered anywhere.

Thanks for any help you can offer me.

I had this problem too and this way helped me, good luck!

Open up a stock app, like the Clock. Hold down the sleep button until "Slide to power off" appears. When it does, let go of the sleep button and hold down the home button. After about 5-10 seconds, the app will close.

PS: It didn't really worked the first times so I kinda gave up, (this was at night). Then in the morning when I usually check my phone, it did worked. So try this first step a couple of times and let it sit for about 10 hours, then try it, if it really does not work, try again the same process, and if it does not work after, then follow these other steps by clicking on the link...
