Display backlight turns off after a couple minutes

My MBP is working greatly. However, after a couple minutes using it, the display backlight turns off. I've connected the MBP to a TV, its working. I even put a light behind the display and I can see that it is working properly, it is just the display backlight that turns off by itself after a couple minutes. What can I do? Thanks.

This model does not use an inverter. Inverters are used on CCFL backlights. The LCD on your computer is a LED backlight. It has an LED driver circuit on the logic board. I'd be more concerned with the LED driver than with the LCD. The whole issue sounds like a backlight issue not an LCD issue

First, try resetting your PRAM by holding CMD-OPTION-R-P on boot until you hear a second chime. If this does not change anything, it may very well be a hardware issue. Let us know the results of the PRAM reset and we will be able to troubleshoot further.

First of all, thank you very much. No, it didnt work :( at first, I said it works properly everytime I turn on the mbp, then, after a few minutes it stops working. However, thats not accurate. Actually, once the light turns off, it takes some time to turn on again. It doesnt work everytime i turn the mbp on. I mean, it works sometimes, sometimes it doesnt. I tried what you told me to do, but nothing changed. :(

When it happens, does the screen flicker if you move the monitor? What about when the screen is on?

by

No, moving the monitor doesnt affect anything. Neither when its on or off. Do you think it could be a problem in the logic board? A guy who works at the apple store told me that if i buy a new onec the problem will be solved. However, Im not sure about that. In addittion, a new logic board is pretty expensive. I Dont know whay to do

I also put a light behind the screen, and I can see everything working just fine. But i cant hold a light behind my mbp forever lol ... I dont know what to do man.

Well, it could very well be a bad LCD display. Other people have had similar problems due to the inverter going bad in the LCD display. The part is here and the guide for replacement is here.
