I am having trouble down loading my photos the memory car is detected I am able to select photos and click import selected, but then it will not actually download photos, if you try to close iPhoto is says they are being downloaded but this could be hours after they started and still the download will not finish,
Is this a good question?

if possible, try a different card and retry the operation. (i.e. copy photos to another card, then try the Import.) If both have the issue, then possible reader issue. If 2nd one works and first does not, it's possible issue with the card itself.
