Water between the layers of the screen. How do I fix it?

Hi there,

I was kayaking the day before yesterday and unfortunately my iPhone 5s got drowned for about 3-5 seconds. I dried it in the sun directly after and put it in a bag of rice when I came back home for more than 24hours now.

The phone seems to work fine, but there seems to be water behind or within the display. (See picture: http://pasteboard.co/113SzhdZ.jpg)

Is this something I can fix and if so, is there a guide here on ifixit to do so?

Best

In my experience, the water will *never* all evaporate from the screen no matter how bad you try to dry it. You could try removing the display assembly from the phone and dry it as much as you can without putting to much heat on the LCD. But to be honest, I doubt it'll work. Just go ahead and change the display, you'll save tons of time and you'll be happy.

Regards,

Bruno
