MacBook Pro receiving no Power. Magsafe lights green & still no charge

Hi!

I've got this strange issue with an early 2011 13 in MacBook Pro. About a month ago my MacBook decided to stop receiving power to operate and to charge the battery.

Magsafe lights green but battery isn't charging. When battery power depletes then I can't power the system on and still Magsafe lights green.

I've already checked the following:

- Magsafe Power Adapter is good. Charges any other 13 in Macbook.

- Battery is good. Charges in any other 13 in Macbook Pro.

- When replacing battery with a fully charged one, then the system powers on. However, even having Magsafe Adapter plugged in, the Macbook drains power from the battery, not from the Power Adapter.

So I took the Macbook to an Apple Service Center only to be told the Logic board had gone faulty.

Personally I think the magsafe DC-In Board is damaged. I may be wrong and, in that case, I still need to replace the entire Logic Board.

Any suggestions?

Best,

Johnny.

This is most likely a bad DC in board, which can be replaced without having to replace the entire logic board. Often times dust and dirt can build up on the board terminal which can cause this issue as well, so before you purchase a new board, use this guide to get access to the board that you currently have. Disconnect the board and clean both ends with 90%+ isopropyl alcohol. Let it thoroughly dry and then reconnect it. Reassemble your Macbook and if it still has this issue you should order a new board here and use the above guide to install it. Hope this helps.

Hello again. Cleaning the boards did no benefit :( I've ordered a replacement part for the DC Board. Hopefully next time it works :)

Thanks a lot!

Well it was worth trying. I've already changed the board, but still I have the same problem. Here is an image: https://plus.google.com/photos/105981124...

Thanks for all the support.

This sounds like logic board damage to me, you could take a look at iPad Rehab, they do board level repairs.
