headphone jack is wobbly and loses connection in left ear?

i have a i pod touch 2nd gen

I went to mac store they said they don't like taking it apart and it would cost £99 for an exchange (get rid of my 1 and get a new 1)

so here i am trying to find out how to fix (remove and replace the headphone jack if any 1 can help it would relay appreciate it

what ipod do you have ??

replacing the part isn't too hard - but that depends on the model

i have found a couple of websites showing how to take apart but does not specify on how to take the headphone jake out

as you can see in the image above - the headphone jack is soldered onto the board.

there is no way to fix it without soldering!

the headphone jack should have 3 screws - to prevent it from getting wobbly at all.

maybe there is one screw missing and one of the flex lines broke.

i woild disassemble it (choose one of the guides from the right). check the headphone jack if you see the actual damage! the part is sold on ebay, but the flex lines could also be replaced with cables - i never needed a new one because of broken connections
