Phone will not charge. (Fake charging)

My phone ran out of battery today, and Itried charging it and it went to apple logo > loading circle(like when you turn it off) and then blank. Then tried to hold power+home until apple logo, release power, and then I connected to iTunes and tried to update it. Since the phone is on during all of this, it must get power from somewhere, which tells me its charing. (but what the !&&* do i know)

After the update it went back to the "fake" charing. says its charing but clearly not moving, not able to turn on. Can't go into itunes/restore either.

read something about the U2 IC stuff, but if that was burned would it allow me to connect to itunes for so long? (As long as it took to update it? 15-25 minutes)

Fixed! took my phone to a repair shop, they changed the chargeport, and now its working again flawlessly.

Probably not. I believe that if the U2 chip is damaged, the phone will not complete a restore or update. Have you tried a new battery?

No I have not, I have another iPhone 5s. Would it work to try and swap over the battery?

by

Sure as long as you don't damage anything in the process.

Haven't tested another battery yet, but I did check the voltage on my current battery, read 3.59v so it should be good no?

You have to test the battery under load to get an accurate measurement.

is there a guide for that?
