Why is my desktop shuts down randomly.

I have a windows 8.1 desktop after 2 months of using trial version of its OS, my desktop starts to shutdown randomly, what should I do to fix it?

You mention using the trial. I beleive in windows 8 eventually your "grace period" ends and microsoft tries to annoy you into getting a license. my solution: upgrade to windows 10, skip license. Only downside to that is "windows is not activated. Activate now" watermark in the bottom right corner and not being able to access personalization settings.

You have accumalated a lot of dust inside the case around the vents of your devices. Take off the side panels and blow it out with a small low power compressor. Do not use canned air dusters as they blow moisture as well as air. If that doesn't work, it still needed to be done. Check the power cord to make sure it is secure. Check the power supply. If you have added a bigger video card or anything that uses more power you need to upgrade your power supply. Most computers these days need at least a 500 watt power supply. good luck
