Why would a line appear straight down the middle of the screen?

lynnmarie411, if it is a single vertical line (usually one pixel in width) running in a vertical direction, your LCD developed a TAB error. The only way to fix this is by replacing the LCD. To verify this, post an image of what your screen looks like with your question
