Boots to a blue screen with a black frame, no mouse.
Turned on the computer and it does not load to the operating system.

To boot from a system installation disk, insert the disk and restart holding down the "C" key. Go to the second page pull down menu Utilities -_ disk utility and see if your hard drive shows up in the left hand section, if so click on it and try repairing the drive. If the disk does not show up then machead is correct and your hard drive needs replacement. Let us know the results and we can proceed with a fix. Thanks

or a boot CD. If that works your HD is hosed.
