I took apart my ps3 slim to clean all the dust out of it which was allot. I have it all back together but when I put a disc in the front left arm tab that tells the ps3 your putting in a disc grinds on the disc. what is supposed to hold it back or keep it in place to not let it ride on the side of the disc?

Did anything happen to the blu ray drive when you pulled it out? It sounds like you may just need to go back in and make sure all the parts are lined up correctly. If the control board and optical drive aren't sitting right they could cause that sort of grinding. Otherwise, something may have happened to the optical drive and you might have to replace it.

I found the problem. i broke one of the small plastic tabs that hold it back. A little superglue fixed it. now it works perfectly.
