Possible screen and/or digitizer damage.

Hi I purchased an Iphone, was told by the seller that it was a 5s model. It needed a new battery, so I followed a video to replace it only to find that when I pried off the front, there was no battery underneath. Further research shows that I actually have a 4s model. While they look very similar on the outside, they are not on the inside. Now the phone will not turn on, or the screen is black. Would yuor educated guess be that I have permanatly damaged the screen?

Upon disassemble, the 4 corner tabs on the inside of the screen were broken off and a random small brass piece was found. A new screen was installed and the phone has been restored. Thanks.

Some people pretend to sell iPhone 5 or newest model using custom housing for the iPhone 4/4S.

Right now, Changing battery for iPhone 4/4S and 5/5C/5S is not the same.

To acess battery for iPhone 4/4S, you have to remove rear glass panel.

Conclusion, your LCD is probably damaged and you have to change it.

Do you mean you received a iPhone 5 as there is plenty off difference if it was a 4s

It is a 4s, I was told it was a 5s when I bought it. 4s: change battery from back, 5s: change battery from front.
