hi i just bought a used phone off ebay, the seller mention nothing wrong about the phone other than that the screen needed to be replaced, turned it on and its not finding a signal, just comes up as "searching" and then goes to no service. anyone know if this is a problem with the cellular antenna or is it something else

Perhaps it's stollen with a blacklisted EMEI...

i checked that, it says the imei isnt blacklisted, could it just be the cellular antenna?
It's possible, this behavior also happens when you put a disabled SIM into an iPhone. Have you verified that the the phone isn't carrier locked to a different carrier?
The phone isnt carrier locked. i bought it from uk and i live in ireland, could that effect it?
also when i select the carrier manually, it says restricted network
Does the SIM work in another phone?
