Why am I getting nothing but lines in the screen
All I'm seeing after changing the screen and digitizer are lines

if there are lines, it means there is a poor connection, try unplugging and resetting the connection. be sure to go slow and take your time.

Sounds like a defective replacement screen, iv'e had a few bad ones from eBay. Try unclipping the screen from the chassis and see if the lines disappear. Also try reconnecting the cables giving them a clean with isopropyl if you have any.

post some images of your display. It does sound like a poor connection more than a broken LCD.
