Asus k56c Touchpad isn't working nor is FN + F9! Help!

Hi, my touchpad is not working anymore and neither is FN + F9, if someone could please give me another solution that would be great because I have been looking on the internet for hours and have found nothing!

Option 1

  • Go to control panel and Double-click the "Mouse" link below the "Hardware and Sound" icon and then click the "Hardware" tab.
  • Check whether mouse setting has changed to "Disabled" if yes you can enable it

Option 2

  • Go to control panel and Double-click the "System and Security" link and then the "Device Manager"
  • Scroll down to the "Mice and Other Devices" section and then click the "+" to expand the menu.
  • Check whether mouse/ TP has been "Disable" if yes you can enable it

Option 2

  • Boot with live CD such as ubuntu / kubuntu
  • Check whether hardware functionality of touch pad
  • if it is work on Linux base OS : try to restore you ASUS laptop
  • install fresh OS and try to get functionality back

If above 3 options not worked for you, claim the warranty if available otherwise teardown the notebook check whether FPC connected properly to motherboard if yes change the new touchpad.
