Screen unresponsive after water damage

Hi guys,

My S4 has received water damaged recently in heavy rain. I didn't realise water had gotten into the phone, and I continued to use it. I've since dried it out and the phone seems to be working fine, but one part of the screen (the part where my lock pattern is, most likely because that was the part I kept using) is unresponsive.

I've already opened the phone up and checked for/cleaned any corrosion, but the section of the screen still isn't working.

Could this be an issue with the digitalizer?

Thanks.

Yes it definitely involves the digitizer as it is the only part of the display assembly that's responsible for sensing touch. Did you use 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol and a small soft bristle brush such as a toothbrush to clean the logic board and other parts such as the cable connections? If you did and the digitizer is still having the same problem then an area of the digitizer may have shorted out. If you are confident that the digitizers connection on the logic board and its cable end are clean and undamaged then replacing the digitizer should fix the problem.

Yes I used 100% isopropyl alcohol and cotton tips to clean all the internal components.

Ok great. Thanks for your help!
