Logic board damage - what is this component?

Hi.

I've recently discovered my MacBook's logic board was damaged, probably by the previous owner.

Picture 1 - Before cleaning

By the look of it, I guess it was Coke. After cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol, it looks like this.

Picture 2 - After cleaning

As you can see, two pins of the component in the red circle are destroyed, but the device is working properly and I haven't noticed any strange behaviour.

So my questions are:

What is this component?

Which circuit is it part of?

My plan is to buy a cheap broken logic board from eBay and replace the component. My technician friend told me that was a good idea, but that I also could use it like this, because it's probably ("probably" - this is what worries me) a component which is not that important.

Thank you in advance.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

That is U 5410 which is a TI INA214 in a SC70 package which is part of your computer sensors. This one monitors the high side current and "reports" it to the SMC. If you run a AHT it should give you a sensor error. Replace it to avoid any sensor related issues

Thanks!

Just to be sure, can this one do the job?

Some of the values are different so not sure how this will interfere with the function for the sensory circuit. I'd stick closer to he original values http://www.ti.com/product/ina214
