White Screen issues after a few months

Hi, my iPod has been on sleep mode for quite some time (a few months), and I tried to turn it on, but a white screen just shows up. I charged it for about 30 minutes and tried a hard-reset, but its STILL white when it SHOULD be the Apple logo. It also seems to restart itself at random times. Is there any other way to fix this problem? Thank you in advance.
