Screen backlight not working on my MacBook Pro

I accidentally dropped milk on my Macbook. Few amount of milk has seeped into the left side space between display screen and keyboard.

I dried it and left it for few days. Later I started it. I can hear the startup sound and cooling fan goes well but my screen went black. I thought the lcd / led screen was dead but on further investigation (shining a light through the apple logo) I found that the screen is working fine, its the backlight failure.

How can i fix it...?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I'd check the backlight fuse first. It's on the board near the lcd ribbon connector. Should have a letter "P" on it. Did you actually open the macbook and dry everything or just put it in like a bag of rice?

I opened the macbook and dried it using a hot air blower

That does nothing but spread around the $@$*. Put it in a tupperware container of 99% alcohol and toothbrush it gently in circles to remove the junk, hopefully the hair dryer didn't ruin the board.

@c3pt how do I "check" the backlight fuse? I found it... now what? Thanx!

You can check it by using a multimeter, putting it into resistance/continuity mode, and put the red probe on one side of the fuse, and the black one on the other side (polarity doesn't matter), and there should be a ~0Ω short across the fuse.

Look for any burn / black marks on the LCD connector too.
