app store won't launch

I have a week old imac running 10.10

The app store just bounces a couple of times, but won't launch.

same result from applications and dock icon.

It's telling me 5 updates, but just won't launch.

Anyone any idea?

I know you can reinstall from recovery to fix this, but the fix only lasts 2 or 3 days for some reason.

I have no idea how you got 10.10 on your machine as the maximum operating system for a G5 is 10.5.8.
