New battery wont charge

I brought a new replacement battery for my iPhone 5 and it was part charged then fully charged no probs. When it went flat it refused to take charge and just powers intermittently on (screen lights up with apple icon only) and off on its own.

dean, you do want to try a different cable first and if that does not work replace the lightning connector. If none of that works, then look into getting U2 replaced. Start with the easy stuff first.

There has been a problem with the so called u2 IC chip which is in "charge" of aiding the charging process.

The problem was: If you charge your battery while it still has some power left, it will charge and work without any problems, but

ONCE the battery runs flat, it no longer can be charged within this device.

For example you could take the battery out, charge it in another phone and put it back into your phone and it will mostlikely work, until it runs flat again.

If I'm right, the only way to fix this problem is to replace the u2 charging chip''
