My Screen is dark?

Two weeks ago my son dropped my macbook. The screen had a crack in it. I bought a new screen from Ifixit, and everything worked fine. But this morning my screen is very dark. The contrast buttons are not changing anything. My question is, is the LCD screen defective, or did the inverter go out. Please let me know what I can do to fix it. Thank you very much.

It helps if you give the correct information on what computer you have at the start of a question instead of making us guess. Please remove the battery and look in the compartment and give us the exact model you have.
