What Electronic Testing Equipment Is Needed For Troubleshooting?

Hi. In addition to all the Apple repair mechanical laptop tools like Philips, Torx screwdrivers, pliers, anti-static tape, spudgers, I would like to find out what electronic testing equipment and meters might be helpful for troubleshooting difficult intermittent problems such as logic boards?

Although the Apple laptop work I do is mainly replace hard drives, RAM install, OSX, troubleshoot hardware and software problems, I haven't gotten into logic boards or display replacement yet It would be interesting to learn more about checking out logic boards and possibly repairing them rather than doing replacements if there was equipment to do it available.

Thanks for any help and advice

I have a multi-meter. Also a little battery tester. All kinds of external enclosures, and a universal adapter to hook up ide, sata drives large and small. Here's the adapter: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20T...

I also now use a Fluke infrared thermometer: http://www.testequipmentdepot.com/fluke/...

a 10x to 20 x microscope, a hot air station, a fine tip solder iron (if you're serious about logic boards repairs).
