Moto X (1rst Gen). Model#1040 Screen replacement?

I have a Moto X (1rst Gen...). I brought it almost a 1 1/2 ago and today while I was at work unfortunately I dropped my phone. The screen shattered, but the LCD is still intact so, "Yay!" but so still so sad :'(. Anyways, I would like to replace the screen myself. The only problem is that every website I try to order it from does not have my model number which is XT1049. Does the model number really matter if I am only trying to replace just the glass? Are glass sizes in terms of the phone proportions the same across models or not really?
